Hospitality & Tourism Academy
Hospitality and Tourism Academy:
This program begins with the course in Hospitality and Tourism which lays the foundation for students to continue learning in a variety of service industry areas. At Baker High School, the program offered is Restaurant, Food, and Beverage Services; therefore, students will complete their three-course sequence by completing Culinary Arts I and Event Planning. Students will have the opportunity to learn through the use of school-based laboratory experiences in a commercial kitchen. School-based laboratory experiences are essential for students to develop skills in the hospitality and tourism industry. Career and technical student organizations are integral, cocurricular components of each career and technical education course. These organizations serve as a means to enhance classroom instruction while helping students develop leadership abilities, expand workplace-readiness skills, and broaden opportunities for personal and professional growth.
