The mission of JROTC is “To motivate young people to become better citizens.”
Baker’s Army JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp) program is a leadership course where cadets get the opportunity to learn more about themselves and the community around them. Cadets learn how to communicate, be leaders, and work as a team. Cadets get opportunities to explore areas of interest like the USS Alabama, the Bryant Career Technical Center, several universities, and so much more. There is a wide range of teams within the JROTC program, like Drill, Color Guard, Raiders, Drone, Orienteering, Scholars Bowl, etc. Cadets are required to practice drill and ceremony every Monday, participate in Physical Training on Tuesdays and Fridays, and wear their JROTC uniform every Wednesday. Cadets must uphold high academic standards, model behavior, and be well-rounded students. JROTC is a first-class experience for all cadets who enter. Multiple scholarship opportunities are available.
